Judith A. Magdich, age 82, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, in Dixon. She was born March 20, 1940, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Arnold and Marjorie (Atwater) Lawson. She was a graduate of Ripon College and had been an elementary school music teacher in Addison, IL, prior to moving to Dixon. She married Hon. Tomas Magdich Aug. 11, 1962, in Ripon, WI. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2014. Judy was past president and member of PEO, was an English as a Second Language instructor at SVCC, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served on the Dixon School Board. She had been a KSB Hospital Pink Lady and a lifelong golfer. When she moved to Dixon 58 years ago, she joined the Jayceettes and several bridge clubs where she met dear friends including a dinner club of couples who enjoyed going on adventures together through the years. Judy was dedicated to her children and was a loving, supportive wife to Tom. She was Nana to her grandchildren who absolutely adored her. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and entertaining friends. She and Tom travelled the world, but her favorite destination was always Hawaii. Judy will be remembered for her quick-witted humor, her love of games -especially cards- and her gentle nature. Judy is survived by her children Amy (Alan) Clemens of Dixon, Michael Magdich of Ann Arbor, MI, and Marjorie (Ken) Erdmann of Tulsa, OK; 7 grandchildren Emily, Thomas, Nicholas, Mary, Henry, Maxwell and Alexandra. Funeral services will be Tuesday Aug. 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon with Pastor David Spaulding officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday at the church. Please join the family for lunch following the service. Burial of remains will be at a later date. A memorial has been established to the scholarship fund at Ripon College. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon.
