Judith (Bluntzer) Malone - Judy to everyone who loved her - passed away at the age of 86, on December 16, 2025, leaving behind a life grounded in faith, kindness, and quiet strength.

Judy was born on December 4, 1939, to August E. “Gus” and Edith (Weir) Bluntzer, eleven years younger than her brother, Sonny. From an early age, she had a rich inner life. She loved to read, had a vivid imagination, and was content entertaining herself for hours at a time. Those who knew her well remember her sweetness and calm nature, qualities that stayed with her throughout her life.

Judy was beautiful both outwardly and inwardly. Her warmth, good manners, and steady presence put others at ease. Even during difficult periods, she carried herself with dignity and gentleness.

As a child, Judy underwent major heart surgery, an early challenge that shaped her resilience. Later, she lived for many years in Saudi Arabia, where she enjoyed daily life abroad and wandering the souks. During that time, Judy and her husband Bill practiced their Catholic faith quietly but faithfully. Each week, they hosted a small, hidden Mass in their home for fellow Catholics. In a country where such worship, and even wine, was forbidden, they made their own wine and opened their home so others could pray. It was something they did simply and without attention.

Faith remained central to Judy’s life. A devoted Catholic, she attended Mass wherever she lived. Over the years, her family worshiped in churches across many countries and languages, and Judy found comfort in the familiar rhythms of her faith.

Her faith was also reflected in service. Judy volunteered at the Berclair Mansion and with the Art Society in Beeville, giving her time steadily and without recognition. Serving others was simply part of how she moved through the world.

Judy shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, William “Bill” Marshall Malone. Their life together was built on partnership, shared experiences, and a genuine enjoyment of one another’s company. Whenever Bill needed anything, he would simply call out “Judy,” a small habit that became familiar and comforting to those around them. She endured his passing during the COVID pandemic with faith and resolve. In the years that followed, she faced cancer and chemotherapy with patience, humor, and composure.

She also had great patience for Bill’s boats and constant projects. When one of his garage experiments ruined her new electric skillet, she simply said, “Well, what are you going to do?” It was how she approached much of life, not with resignation, but with acceptance and a steady forward glance.

Above all, Judy loved her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and is survived by her children, Molly Malone (Kenny Savage), Edward Malone (Lisa Ehrlich), Michael Malone, and Patricia Baker (Scot Baker). She was a devoted grandmother to Caitlin Brust (Bo), Rory Farmer, Gracie, Marshall, and William Malone, and Coryn and Daisy Baker, and a great-grandmother to Elizabeth Quinn Brust.

Judy will be missed deeply and daily. She was the kind of presence that did not ask for attention but made life calmer simply by being there. Like a steady hand on your back or a light left on in the next room, she offered reassurance, constancy, and love; and those who knew her will carry that with them always.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at 6 o’clock.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Beeville.

Pallbearers will be Michael Malone, Ted Malone, Scot Baker, Kenny Savage, Marshall Malone, William Malone, Bo Brust and Rory Farmer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Capital Repairs Fund, 609 E. Gramman, Beeville, TX 78102.
