Judith Maples Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Audubon Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Slidell on Mar. 11, 2026.
Judith "Judy" Maples, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on April 18, 1949, in Great Falls, Montana, to her loving parents, the late Chesley "Chet" Lewis and Doris Lewis, Judy's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family and a legacy of kindness that touched all who knew her.

Judy's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband of 38 years, Steven Maples. She is the adored mother of Selena Torrens, Connie Harrison, Jagaedy Maples, and Justen Maples. Judy's joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Sarah Denniston, Marissa Torrens, Kaitlyn Cook, Aerlyn Ramsey, Ryland Maples, Braydon Maples, Jace Maples, and Jasper Maples, and later, her great-grandchildren, McKenna Denniston, Maverick Denniston, Lucas Figuero, and Nolan Cook. Each of them was a precious jewel in the crown of her life, cherished beyond measure.

Judy is survived by two siblings, Mariann Riddle and Donald Lewis, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six siblings, Clyde Lewis, Audrey Usleton, Norman Lewis, Elsie Ketterling, Marie Hancock, and Randa Schroeder.

Professionally, Judy was a sales associate who took pride in her work, but her true vocation was that of a homemaker. She created a home that was a sanctuary of comfort and a haven of support for her family and friends.

Judy's interests were a reflection of her love for nature and the outdoors. She was an avid fisherwoman, finding peace and solace in the water. Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, with every bloom and harvest sharing a bit of her care and attention.

Judy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt the warmth of her smile and the generosity of her heart. May she rest in peace, knowing that her life was a gift to us all, and her spirit will forever be a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends.
