Judith Martin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Nov. 23, 2022.
Judy Martin was born Judith Ann Walker on July 31,1940 in Butler, Missouri to Norman and Edna Mae Walker. She was a happy-go-lucky red headed freckled child who loved exploring her small town. She eventually met and married Ossip Eugene Haggard and had two daughters Barbara and Karen. The family lived happily in Raytown, Missouri for many years. She was a much loved second grade school teacher and she influenced many young lives throughout her school career. Judy's daughter, Barbara married the love of her life, Jim Blaine, MD and Karen married her high school sweetheart, Mike Ingle.
Sadly, Judy's beloved husband Gene died an early death from colon cancer in 1992 at the age of 53. After spending some years taking care of and playing with her grandchildren, Sam, Sara, Mark and Jamie Blaine, she met R.K. Martin and they spent over 20 years happily married and traveling the world to places such as Hawaii and Nova Scotia. R.K. and Judy also took many happy trips to Destin, Florida. Judy often mentioned how much she loved the ocean and swimming. R.K. sadly passed away in 2015 and Judy bravely carried on holding his memory close.
Judy was diagnosed with type I diabetes at age 25, but never allowed the disease to dictate how she lived her life. She took her grandchildren on several more trips, including taking her granddaughter Sara to several countries in Europe. The disease did take its toll in recent years, and Judy moved to the assisted living facility of Springhouse Village where she lived for the past several years and created many happy memories! She loved visiting with her grandchildren, Sam, Sara, Mark and Jamie Blaine. Judy's great grandchildren, Drew, Pete, Emily, Lewis Blaine and Suleiman Moukrime always made her smile. She will be missed.
Private family services will be at a later date.
