Newcomer Funeral Home - Green BayJudith Ann “Judy” Matthews, age 84, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Born on February 1, 1942, in Green Bay, Judy was the daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Archiquette) Smith. She was a proud graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1963.
Judy was known for her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and her fearless ability to speak her mind. She lived her life with honesty, strength, and a deep love for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with those she loved.
Judy was married to the late George “Glen” Matthews, with whom she built a loving family. Together they raised four children: Elizabeth, Bobby Jo, Gary, and Charlotte. Her greatest joy was her family, and she was blessed with 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life.
In her younger years, Judy enjoyed bowling and was proud to have started the women’s pool league in Green Bay. She loved playing bingo, card games, and Yahtzee with her brothers and sisters, creating countless memories filled with laughter and friendly competition. She also delighted in decorating her home for every season, always making it warm and welcoming for family gatherings.
Judy will be remembered for her strong spirit, loving heart, and the laughter she brought into every room. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Judy is survived by Siblings, Karen Skenandore, Muriel Process, Stanley (Linda) Smith, Gary (Cheryl) Smith, Darryl Smith, Elizabeth (Rick) Kramer, Susan (Matthew) Loch, Larry (Donna) Smith, and Chrystal Smith. She is survived by Sister in laws, Sarah Smith, Joni Smith, and Heidi Smith.
Preceded in death by Brothers, Rev Earl Smith, Llewelyn Smith and Bradley Smith, and daughter Charlotte Matthews.
A visitation will be held in her honor on February 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Sharing of Memories at 4:00 PM, taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home (340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay). With the Oneida Hymn Singer's assisting with a Service of Song, at 3:30 PM, and the Oneida Drummer's to conclude the Sharing of Memories.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
