Judith McCall Obituary
We are mourning the passing of Judith C. McCall (nee Tweedle), beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend at Juniper Village Memory Care in Bensalem, PA on April 14th after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease at age 88.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Homer Bertram McCall, as well as one of her sisters, Dawn Tweedle.
Judy was born the eldest of 4 in Detroit, Michigan to Cecil M. and Helen A. (nee Carlson) Tweedle. After working for a short time as a secretary at General Motors after High School, she opted to go West, moving to Oakland, California where she met her husband. After marriage, they lived in Seattle WA, where their daughter Sheryl was born in 1962. From there they resided briefly in Oakland, CA; Metairie, LA and Ossining, NY before settling in Marlboro, NJ where they spent over 40 years in their Levitt ranch home.
Judy worked as an executive assistant and legal secretary in New Jersey. She was a big nature lover, loved gardening, cooking, baking, and was a voracious reader. She also enjoyed reading to children, including her grandchildren. She and Homer shared a love of history as Civil War reenactors with the 15th New Jersey regiment and made many good friends at the groups' get-togethers. She enjoyed walking her dogs, particularly her dachshunds.
She is survived by a brother, Lawrence Tweedle, and a sister Jeanne Silverman, both of Ann Arbor, MI. She is also survived by her daughter Sheryl M. White, her husband Jim as well as 2 grandchildren, Amanda M. White and James C. White.
A visitation is planned at Ascension Lutheran Church in Newtown, PA on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 10:00am, until the start of her Funeral Service at 11:00am.
