It is with great sadness that we post this today;

Janice Lee Haws, 76, of Sellersville, formerly of Chalfont, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 31st , 2026. She was born on September 5th 1949 to Joseph and Erma Haws in Philadelphia.

Jan was preceded in death by her wife of twenty years, Doreen Dolan, her daughter Sarah Lugar and her son Jeffrey Lugar.

She is survived by her sister Suzanne Knellinger, her nieces, Lee Schrock (Roy), Debra Lapihuska (Jim) and Jill Patton (John).

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Jan will be remembered for her quiet wit, dry sense of humor and hysterical sarcasm. She was avid follower of the political scene for the majority of her life. She enjoyed jewelry making and reading.

She had many great times with Doreen and friends. She particularly enjoyed her times in Provincetown, RI.

Jan was extremely intelligent. As a graduate of Arcadia University she went on to become an Assistant Professor of Biology at Delaware Valley University which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Jan chose to donate her body to science so that others may benefit from her passing.

A ceremony of life celebration will be held at a later date.

Donations in Jan's name may be made to Stray Cat Blues, P.O. Box 8, Colmar, PA 18915 or to St Luke's Hospice, 240 Union Station Plaza, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
