JUDITH A. MECKSTROTH, age 82, of Piqua, OH passed away on Friday August 23, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, Troy, OH. She was born on June 4, 1942 to the late Howard R. and Eleanor (Caserta) Johnston. On November 23, 1968 at Greene Street United Methodist Church, Piqua, OH, she married Jerry Meckstroth. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2013.
Judy is survived by one son and daughter-in-laws: James (Lisa) Meckstroth, Piqua, OH; Rhonda Meckstroth, Piqua, OH four brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard Johnston, Troy, OH, Mark (Pam) Johnston, Piqua, OH, Gregory Johnston, Celina, OH and Timothy (Nancy) Johnston, Piqua, OH; three sisters and brother-in-law: Janet Johnston, Piqua, OH, Tindera (James) MacBain, Ann Arbor, MI and Cynthia Hummer, Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren: James (Kelli) Meckstroth, Justin Meckstroth, Joshua (Kelly) Meckstroth, Jason Meckstroth, Kristin Meckstroth, Erica Wilt, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: Jeffrey Meckstroth, one sister: Joyce Hertlein and one sister-in-law: Marty Johnston.
Judy graduated from Piqua Catholic High School in 1960. She also graduated from Good Samaritan X-ray School, Dayton, OH. Judy was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua, OH. She served on various committees for St. Boniface Catholic Church festival and also the Heritage Festival. Judy was an x-ray tech at Piqua Memorial Hospital and for Dr. Dale Hudson for 17 years. She was also a cashier at Piqua Kroger's for 18 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday September 4, 2024 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua, OH with Rev. Fr. Isaiah Callan Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, OH. Arrangements are being handled by Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, OH.
