Judith R. (Perkins) Muller, 90, of Cold Springs, died Thursday evening March 28, 2024. Her husband Robert A. Muller Sr. preceded her in death on September 12, 2021. They had been married for 65 years.
Born December 23, 1933, Judy was the daughter of the late Dr. William Perkins and Kathryn Katz Perkins.
Judy was a very loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Prior to children, she worked at the Wayne County Livestock sale barn, Wayne County Commissioners Office, and the Tax Assessment office.
One of her passions was for dogs. She bred collie and poodle puppies. Over the years, she collected many dogs in need of her love and commemorated them all in her lengthy "dog book". She was a lover of all animals and her many knicknacks filled her home and showed that love.
The one thing she was well-known for was her kind notes she would send to family and friends. If she thought you needed support or a little love, you'd get a sweet little hand-written note complete with stickers, or she'd bake something special for you.
Many were familiar with her phone calls. She would call and check on everyone.
Another of Judy's attributes of most importance to her was her volunteerism. Judy volunteered for many organizations. She was a 4-H leader for 40 years, serving as the key leader of the Cold Spring/Rileyville 4-H Club. Every member was like a child of her own. Judy also assisted as a leader with Dog, Horse, and Veterinary Science clubs.
She was Associate Director of the Wayne County Fair Board. Judy served on the 4-H Advisory Board, Penn State Extension Board, Dairy Advisory Board, and the board for Dessin Animal Shelter. Additionally, Judy was the Rain Recorder for Lebanon Township, and she also served as Auditor for Bethany Borough and Lebanon Township.
She is survived by her sisters, Tammy Thompson and Sally Jonas (Ed); her children, Ella Muller Chyle (Jack), Robert Muller Jr. (Ellen), and Kathryn Muller Dix (Roger); grandchildren, Jessica Chyle Freidenstine (Brian), Jimmie Ann Chyle Fries (Max), Jason Chyle (Kyndra), Jacob Chyle (Ashley), Jackie Chyle Cosgrove, Erica Muller Verola (Mark), Ashley Dix Nebzydoski (Thomas), and Adam Dix; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Bethany Village for Judy's care while she was resident there. They would also like to thank the staff of Hospice of Sacred Heart.
In accordance with Judy's wishes, funeral services will be private.
Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wayne County Fair Scholarship Fund, 270 Miller Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431.
