Judith Anne Omersa, 77, of Gilbert died Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Edgewood Vista in Virginia.
Judy was born on August 9, 1946, to Roy and Ann (Fortuna) Truman in Biwabik. She graduated from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School, Class of 1964. Following high school, Judy was employed as a bookkeeper for Herberger's. She was united in marriage to Frank Omersa on August 16, 1969, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert. Judy was a stay-at-home mom until her two children attended school at which time she went back to work at various customer service jobs. She retired from the Gilbert Public Library in 2009. Judy was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. Judy took the greatest pleasure in spending time with her family and cherished life to the fullest.
Survivors include her daughter, Karri (Steve) Schutte; son, David (Tamie) Omersa; grandson, Justin Schutte; two brothers: Gene (Amelia) and Dale (Maribeth) Truman; a sister-in-law, Laura Truman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; brothers: Don and James Truman; and her parents.
Judy's family would like to thank the staff of Edgewood Vista Memory Care and the Caring Edge Hospice for the wonderful care she received.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Babu Mandagiri celebrating. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Inurnment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.
