Judith Ann Ottaway

Judith Ann Ottaway, 87, formerly of Corry, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Judi was born on August 22, 1938, in Corry, PA, a daughter of the late Paul and Vera (Legters) Meerdink.
Judi was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry High School in 1956. She then attended Edinboro State College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She absolutely loved teaching and building into the lives of her students at Wright Street Elementary School where she taught for 30 years, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corry, where she played the piano for over 50 years. She learned hospitality from her mother, and her home was always open to every missionary, family member, and friend. For over 25 years, she and Roger enjoyed wintering in Winter Haven, FL, traveling and visiting their children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Roger Ottaway, in October 2023.
Judi is survived by her three daughters, Diane (Don) Thacker of Uniontown, OH, Lori (Kelly) Mathis of Chillicothe, OH, and Janna (Jeff) Tague of Plainfield, IN; three sisters, Patricia Hurd of Hudson, OH, Paula (Joseph) Lukac of Port Matilda, PA, and Deborah (Bradley) Sickler of Altoona, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Alyssa (Jordan) Hellwig, Rachael (David) Wolfenden, Cassie (Chris) Batts, Sara (Zachary) Hodges, Ryan (Olivia) Mathis, Tara Thacker, Caleb Tague, and Josh (fiancée Emily) Thacker, as well as eight great grandchildren, Vera and Corinne Hellwig; Arya, Chloe, and Eden Wolfenden; Henley and Lincoln Batts; and Cal Mathis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 on Saturday, October 4, at the First Baptist Church of Corry. Family and friends are invited to call one hour before the service and are also invited to a meal provided by the church after the service.
