Judith Adele Patterson, a beloved member of her community and a remarkable figure in the world of business and the arts, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on March 22, 1939, in Denver, Colorado, Judith lived a life filled with passion, creativity, and a dedication to her endeavors.
As a successful business owner in the retail and home decorating sectors, Judy demonstrated an unparalleled work ethic and a deep commitment to excellence. She also took on leadership roles, notably serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce for several years.
Judy's adventurous spirit was highlighted by her experience as a hot air balloon pilot, navigating the skies with the same enthusiasm she brought to all aspects of her life. A true world traveler, she found joy in exploring different cultures and landscapes, enriching her life and the lives of those around her.
Her personal interests were as vibrant as her professional accomplishments. Judy was a devoted lover of African Violets, nurturing them with the same care and attention she offered to all living things. In addition to her green thumb, she was an active member of the Board of Directors at the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon, contributing to the arts and sharing her love of literature with the community. Judith also enjoyed biking, skiing, and hiking, often finding peace and inspiration in nature's embrace.
Judy leaves behind a loving family who cherished her dearly. She is survived by her sons, Charles Jeffrey Sundin (Heidi) and Brian Phillip Sundin (Joanna), as well as her adoring grandchildren, Nicholas Sundin, Theresa Sundin, Charlie Sundin, Kathleen Sundin, Henry Sundin, and Lily Atwell. Judy was also accompanied in her home by her beloved furry companion, a cat named Oreo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. and Barbara Golding Inman, and her brother, Bradley Inman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to honor and remember the legacy of Judith Adele Patterson, whose impact on her loved ones and community will be felt for years to come.
