Judith Ladner Pohlman left this earthly existence to enter her heavenly home on November 26, the same day she entered in 1946. She left quietly surrounded by the most important people in her life, her family. Those who left before her were her husband, "Jimmy" Pohlman and her son, Philip Pohlman. Those still here to continue the legacy she and Jimmy created are her son, Hill Pohlman and his wife Candice; her daughter-in-law, Tracie Pohlman; and her grandchildren, Colin Pohlman, Brooke Pohlman, and Caroline Hart. Other surviving family members are a sister, Linda; her sisters-in-law, Virginia Edmiston and Kerstin Pohlman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, she participated in community activities by playing in a tennis league, working in the Junior Charity League, and serving for many years on the flower committee at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church. Judy was also very talented. Many were fortunate enough to have been gifted with a piece of her stained glass or needlepoint or cross stitch. She loved to be outside with her pool and flowers or go to the beach with her family. Judy loved animals, and there were always dogs and cats. To the newest family members, Charlie and Elliot, she was known as the "Dog Bone Lady." Always watching the cooking channel or going through cookbooks looking for new recipes to try, she was the consummate cook. Few people knew that beneath her stoic exterior was a heart that had her cooking all weekend to deliver food to various members of the community who at various times needed to know that someone was thinking of them, and everyone looked forward to her delivery of the Christmas rum cake. Even as the grandchildren went to college, they knew that Sunday night dinner was a "command performance" because she had been cooking all day.

In a house full of men, Judy became an active participant in all of their outdoor activities from scuba diving to camping, hunting, and fishing. The family joke was that she fished with the same finesse that created her glasswork and usually caught more than they did but never ate one. Her boys were her life, and she did everything she could to nurture them and to make their lives meaningful and memorable.

From the day they were born, her grandchildren were the greatest joys in her life. She kept them as often as she could, attended every activity that she was able to, helped them with their homework, and chauffeured them anywhere they wanted to go because she knew the day would come when they would no longer ask her.

Judy touched lives not only in her family but also in the community. She will be missed as she goes to join those who await her. Her visitation will be Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe. The funeral service will be Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe.
