Judith Kay (Allen) Quick was born on December 1, 1941, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to parents Vernon and Fern (Butler) Allen. Judy grew up in Council Bluffs. She enjoyed being in 4-H for many years and liked to show her Holstein cow. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. On June 18, 1959, Judy was united in marriage to Ferril “Dale” Quick, Jr. at the RLDS Church in Council Bluffs. She worked at Western Electric, Mutual of Omaha and Insurance Agents, Inc. where she typed and did office work. She was a very fast and efficient typist. Later she worked at Apothecary, Crown Drug and Major Pharmaceutical where she sold prescription drugs.
Judy always loved sewing clothes for her girls and doll clothes. She always loved reading, watching movies and spending time with family. Judy cherished the time she spent at Lake of the Ozarks at their cabin. She also enjoyed spending time on their acreage outside of Woodbine with family where there would be sledding down the big hill, picnics, holidays, bonfires and time in her flower garden.
Judy died on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Azria Health Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 82 years, 10 months and eight days.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ferril Dale Quick, Jr; son, Michael Dale Quick; two granddaughters, Brenda Steppuhn and Melissa Mether; and brother, Vernon Allen. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara and her husband Bill Steppuhn of Woodbine, Joanne and her husband Cory Mether of Magnolia, Iowa and Penny and her husband Rory Weis of Denison, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Stan Allen of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Dan Allen and his wife Scharlyn of Madison, Alabama; and many other relatives and friends.
