Judith A. Rex, 64 of Slatington, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 11, 2025, at  Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born in Allentown on February 5, 1961, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Josephine (Cesanek) Serfass.  Judy married the late  David “Doc” Rex, who passed away in 2023.  They enjoyed 38 years of marriage, love, and life. Judy was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1979.  She then obtained a nursing degree from Northampton Community College.  Judy was an RN for many years, working for various nursing homes including Phoebe Home, Liberty Nursing Home, and Cedarbrook, Allentown.  She volunteered with the former West End Playground Assoc, and along with her late husband, was active with the NLYAA and a member of the Slatington Skeet Club.

She found her greatest joy in being a Mother and Nana.  Judy danced in the kitchen to the soundtracks of Rod Stewart with her children and grandchildren.  She never missed a sporting or family event.  She enjoyed traveling, cold Diet Coke, and yellow Cooper cheese.

Judy will be lovingly remembered by her 3 children; Vanessa Rex ( Ammar Eddhahri) of Slatington, Alyssa Rex (CJ Allen) of Lehighton, Zachary Rex (Emily Mulcahy) of Slatington; grandchildren: Ryker, Elsie, Harper; sisters: Jacqueline and husband Mike Schuck of Slatington; Jodi and husband John Lieb of Schwenksville; nieces and nephews and her loving aunts, cousins, and friends who were more like sisters; 3 beloved dogs, Cooper, Farouk, Thomas.

A prayer service will be held at 8 pm on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects prior from 6 to 8 PM.  Memorial contributions in Judy’s name can be made to the Northampton County Medical Society Alliance (NCMSA), PO Box 21012, Lehigh Valley, PA 18002-1012
