Judith Schau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory on Jul. 21, 2025.
Judith Andrea Schau (Judy), 83, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Gabriel Home for the Elderly in Valparaiso.

She was born April 25, 1942, in Valparaiso to Clyde and Pearle (Clouse) Schau.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 4 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Valparaiso located at 2205 Campbell. She was a dedicated member of this church and served 25 years as treasurer.

Judy was very selfless, caring and hard working. She was a volunteer board member for over 20 years for the Porter County Association for Handicapped Children and Adults, and was also a member of the Valparaiso Business and Professional Women's Club for many years. Judy spent decades in medical office administration for multiple physician practices in the Valparaiso area, and more recently was employed at New Beginnings Counseling in Valparaiso as an office administrator. She was also an avid reader and a major sports fan (of note would be Valparaiso University, Notre Dame and Purdue). The impact of her compassion and devotion to service will be deeply missed. Judy was always there for anyone in need and helped many family members and friends during their prolonged illnesses.

She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Arlene Schau, and many close friends.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Phyllis Miller, Beverly Fackler, Richard, David, Ronald, Kenneth, and Charles Schau.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Bernard family, Dr. Dhindsa family, Linda Davis, Susan Earlywine, Dana Hice, as well as her loving and supportive church family, and wonderful neighbors and friends at Meridian Woods. Much appreciation is given to the kind and caring staff at Avalon Springs, Gabriel Home for the Elderly, Northwest Health Porter, and VNA Hospice NWI.

Please send condolences to the family at www.LakeviewFHC.com.
