She is survived by her husband of 57 years Donald Stowers; her sons Curtis (Sonya) Stowers of Naperville, Illinois and Scott (Pamela) Stowers of Seattle, Washington; her grandchildren, Amanda Stowers, Alexander (Bayleigh Porter) Stowers, and Casey (Evan Novak) Stowers; her great-granddaughter Charlotte Stowers; her brother John (Vicki) Harbauer of Springfield, Illinois and her sister Lyn (Harbauer) Glover of Palm Springs, California; and many close friends and family.
Judi was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, and is the daughter of John and Rita (Rechner) Harbauer. Judi lived in Seattle, Washington; Toledo, Ohio; Aiken, South Carolina; and Syracuse, New York before settling in Chatham, IL to enjoy retirement with Don.
Judi was a 1964 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Springfield. Never one to sit by quietly, she was renowned for being constantly "on the go" with a perfunctory stop at Starbucks being part of each day's journey. She loved to spend time sharing stories and discussing (with full confidence!) all topics under the sun with family and friends. Her network of friends stretches across the United States. She was always there to support them and would go out of her way to stay in touch with them frequently. She also enjoyed her regular bridge games with her ladies' group in Chatham.
Visitation will be from 10am till time of service at 11:45am, Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Rd, Divernon with Rev. James Palakudy officiating. There will be a reception following the service at 12:00 p.m. at the same venue.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
