Judith Ann Strike, 74, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her home of natural causes on October 28, 2025.
She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on April 3, 1951 to William "Joe" Strike and Ruth Strike. As a teenager, Judy was a member of the Wyoming 4-H Club where she was named one of the national award members at the 46th National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago for her excellence in health projects. Judy attended Central High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work at the University of Wyoming. She returned to school and earned her Master of Science in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University in 2005. Judy enjoyed her work at West Valley Medical Center, Elks Rehab Center, as the Director of Social Services at Horizon Home Health and Hospice, and at St. Luke's where she retired in 2017. Judy dedicated her life to helping others and maintained her LCSW license, ready to help the community if there was a need.
Judy loved the Meridian Library where she volunteered regularly and was a member of the Extreme Book Nerd challenge. She was excited she had recently finished the 2025 challenge and was actively picking out which books she was going to read next. Judy's grandkids were another joy in her life, volunteering at the kids' schools, organizing family dinners, and taking trips to visit family and friends out of town.
Judy was extremely proud of her heritage. She was a fierce advocate for women's rights following in the footsteps of her great grandmother, Therese A. Jenkins, who ensured Wyoming entered the Union as the first state granting women's right to vote.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Alberta (Jenkins) Strike, father William Joseph Strike and sister Joanne Katko. She is survived by her sister Jeanne (Chris) Thobro, Laramie, Wy, her 3 children Lisa Burns, Caldwell, Id. Kimberly (Joshua) Menges, Crestview, Fl. and Jeffrey (Kaylee) Burns,
Boise, Id. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Cadence Anderson-Smith, Teagan Burns, Jacob Menges and Abigail Menges.
A celebration of life will be held early 2026 allowing family and friends from out of state to make arrangements for travel. In lieu of flowers, Judy wishes to have donations sent to any of the following organizations: Meridian Library District, St. Luke's Children's Hospital, Meridian Food Bank, and Planned Parenthood.
