Judith Tattoli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 31, 2026.
Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother

Judith Mae Tattoli (née Slader), 85, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. Born in

Newark, NJ, Judy was the daughter of the late Donald and Lillian (Lamphron) Slader.

Judy grew up in Nutley, raised her family in Belleville, and spent her retirement years in

Lords Valley, PA. Judy is predeceased by her husband Mario of 63 years. She is survived by her

daughters, Theresa McHugh and her husband Thomas, Catherine Tattoli-Calabria and her

husband Joseph, Patricia Gerhardt and her husband Robert, and her beloved grandchildren,

Joseph Calabria and his wife Gabriella, Emily Calabria, Jessica Gerhardt, and Andrew Gerhardt.

Her sisters Patricia and Christine, brother Richard and sister-in-law Angie, survive her. She is

predeceased by her sister Deanna and brothers Gregory and James.

Judy loved nothing more than hosting her entire family at her home in Pennsylvania for

hours of laughing, eating, drinking, and playing games. She never turned down a game of

Skip-Bo or Rummy 500, and to her opponent's dismay, her lucky streak never seemed to run

out. Mimi devoted countless hours to her grandchildren which were her greatest pleasure. She

created beautiful memories with her family and friends; cooking up a storm, traveling nearby

and abroad, and going to the casino to hit the jackpot. She was very involved in the community

and social clubs, including the Happy Hookers (a sewing club). She loved crocheting and spent

a great deal of time making hats, scarves, blankets, and ponchos which she gave freely to those

around her. Judy was a friend to so many and always wanted to lend a helping hand. She

would never turn down a hot cup of coffee with a sweet treat while enjoying a delightful

conversation.

Her family is grateful to Care One at the Cupola for their compassionate care in her last

year. Judy was thankful to find a warm home and new special friends during her time there.

Visitors will be received at S.W. Brown funeral home, Nutley, NJ on Tuesday, February 3,

2026 from 3:00-7:00 PM.

The funeral will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Church

in Nutley, NJ. The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, financial donations can be made in memory of Judy to Humanitarian

Radiology Development Corps, a charity that her granddaughter, Emily, is actively involved in,
