Judith A. Todd born on October 5, 1945, in Hutchison, KS passed away at the age of 80 on December 7, 2025, in her home in Albuquerque.
Judith received a degree in English and Education from the University of New Mexico. She taught English in Zuni, NM and Kansas City, KS. The Rev. Dr. Judith Todd was ordained in 1975 after graduating from McCormick Seminary, and she served at the Presbytery of Chicago as the Associate Executive for Mission Interpretation and Church Support. She then went on to the Graduate Theological Union in Berkley, CA where she earned a MA in Hebrew Bible and a PhD in Biblical Studies.
She spent most of her career teaching as a lecturer and professor at various schools in California, Kansas and New Mexico. Judith returned to New Mexico to serve as the Program Director of Water In the Desert Ministries to provide workshops in spiritual discernment and biblical interpretation with her friend Valerie Isenhower. Judith and Valerie also co-authored two books on spiritual discernment. Judith served on the staff at the Presbytery of Santa Fe as Associate for Joining Hearts and Hands and later as the Acting Stated Clerk. She also served on many committees in the Presbytery. In addition, Judith taught biblical interpretation in the Ecumenical Institute for Ministry's Master's in Theological Studies program based at the Norbertine Abbey in Albuquerque. Judith devoted 50 years to education and ministry.
Judith was a member of PEO International, a philanthropic educational organization for women for almost 61 years. The mission of the organization was important to Judith, her sister and their mother.
Judith was proceeded in death by her Father Rev. David Harrison Todd, her mother Phyllis L. Todd and her niece Sara L. Way. She is survived by her sister Nancy Todd Clark of Kansas City, KS, her brother Dr. Timothy D. Todd of Olathe KS and several nieces, nephews and their children.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00am at French's Funeral Home on the Westside of Albuquerque (9300 Golf Course Rd, NW, Albuquerque)
