Judith Eileen Vick Mayo died on December 2nd, 2021, at the age of 77. She was born on September 12, 1944, in San Marcos, Texas, but lived most of her life on Pond Creek Road in Cheatham County, Tennessee. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Odell Vick and Kate Ella Crouch Vick; her sister, Nancy Carolyn Vick and one unnamed infant. Judy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Raydene Mayo; her son, Joel and his wife Ping, her daughter Jessica and her husband Matt Bach; her grandchildren, Alexander and Lauren Mayo; her nephew, Keith Johnson; several Vick and Crouch cousins and all the members of Raydene's family whom she loved very much.
Judy was a lifetime member of New Bethel United Methodist Church where she served as secretary, historian and pianist for many years and where she loved to sing the Gospel hymns of her faith. She was retired from Equitable Life/AXA where she was employed for 21 years. She was her family and church photographer and historian and was instrumental in the publication of her church's history "This Wonderful Old Church" and "Life on the Creeks" by PALS Chapter of the Cheatham County Historical & Genealogical Association where she also served as their secretary for several years.
Judy requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church or to The PALS chapter of The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association.
Visitation with the family will be at the West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville on Sunday, December 5th, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Monday, December 6th, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of the funeral service at Noon. Burial will be in the Krantz Cemetery on Anderson Lane.
