Guest Book
Judy was blind since birth and faced life's challenges with great courage. She received her undergraduate degree from Indiana Central College (later to become University of Indianapolis) and her Master's Degree from Butler University. She went on to teach for 36 years at Indiana School of the Blind & Visually Impaired before retiring in 1996.
Judy loved a great many things in her life. cooking, music, and surprising her friends and family with gifts. Her two biggest loves in life though were cookies and sports. Judy would follow baseball, basketball, and most of all football, especially the Indianapolis Colts. She loved to listen to their games on the radio and traveled regularly with her brother to college bowl games.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her brother Phillip Whiteman.
Judy is survived by her brother, John Whiteman (Kim).
Visitation will be held on Friday, 02/09/2024, from 12:15 pm – 1 pm with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
