Judith E. Bauer, age 83 of Durand, died Sunday, April 20, 2025 at Advent Health in Durand with her family by her side.
Judy was born on February 21, 1942 in La Crosse. She was the daughter of John and Mary (Davy) Blair. Judy grew up in Brownsville, MN and graduated from Loretto High School in Caledonia, MN. Judy married John A. Bauer on September 10, 1960 in Brownsville, MN. Judy and John later moved with their family to Winona, MN and in 1969 they moved to Durand, where she remained the rest of her life. While in Durand, Judy and John owned and operated Sears in Durand for several years. After selling, Judy continued to work in the store for many years.
Judy enjoyed cooking, golfing, bowling, puzzles and playing cards. She liked going to the casino and supporting her grandchildren's sport events.
Judy is survived by her children, Jeff (Ivy) of Sarona, Jeni (Scott) Bauer and Jay (Jo), both of Durand, 10 grandchildren, Tiffany (Wally), Ted (Sarah), Katie (Dustin), Jamie, Josh (Lindsey), Jackie (Cody), Keauna, Jack, Madisyn and Olivia, eight great grandchildren, Micah, Max, Maiya, Korra, Victor, Connor, Clayton, Carson, one sister, Darlene McGinnis of San Jose, CA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, siblings, Bob (May) Blair and Joy (Ron) Tuma and brother-in-law Bill McGinnis.
Memorial Mass will be 11:30AM Monday, April 28, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Emmanuel Asamoah-Bekoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM Sunday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
