Judy Irene Butler, 75, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on July 8th, 2024. She was born on February 21st, 1949, in Johnson City, TN to the late Fred and Zella Byrd.
Throughout her life, Judy found great joy in working and planting in the beautiful creations of nature. Her green thumb was evident to all who knew her, as she poured her heart into cultivating gardens that bloomed with life and beauty. Judy also dedicated countless hours to volunteering in ministry at her church, where she found fulfillment in serving others and spreading love and kindness within her community.
She also had a special passion for Vacation Bible School (VBS) at her church. She poured her time and energy into creating memorable experiences for the children who attended, nurturing their faith and fostering a sense of belonging within the church family.
Judy is survived by her loving husband Bennie Fritz Butler; children Brian (DeAnna) Butler, Scott Butler, and Wendi Butler; siblings Floyd Byrd, Helen (Roger) Sherman, Freddie (Ann) Turbyfill, and Kathy (Michael) Pratt; grandchildren Garrett Butler, Tori Butler, Brayden Butler, Reed Butler, Caleb Butler, Nathan Butler, Lauren Butler, and Zakary Butler. She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Zella Byrd.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, at First Baptist of Blairsville at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ricky Powell and Pastor Brian Butler officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Blairsville from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Burial will take place in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Garrett Butler, Brayden Butler, Caleb Butler, Nathan Butler, Reed Butler, and Zakary Butler.
In remembrance of Judy's life, let us celebrate the legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that she leaves behind. May her memory continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
