Judy Cramer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGeehan Funeral Homes Keck-Coleman Chapel on Feb. 17, 2026.
Judy Ann Cramer died peacefully on February 12, 2026, just days before her 83rd birthday. Judy was one of three children born to Basil and Dorothy (Smith) Walker on February 16, 1943, in Pompeii, Michigan, a small town founded by her family. She often reminisced about her childhood there, treasuring the memories that shaped the woman she became.

In her early years, Judy married Jerry Malek, and together they welcomed two children, Jerry and Jillene. After Jerry's passing in the early 1960s, Judy later found lasting love with Richard Thomas Cramer. With Richard came two more children, Crystyne and Rich. Judy embraced her blended family wholeheartedly, loving and caring for all four children as her own. Family was always at the center of her life.

Judy and Richard shared a deep commitment to one another and to serving others. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, lending a hand, or simply showing up when someone needed support, they believed in caring for their community and living generously. Together they owned and operated Snowflake Cottages in Bellaire, where summers were spent working side by side with their children and creating cherished family memories. They also shared a love of travel, exploring Alaska and Hawaii and enjoying cruises together.

Professionally, Judy worked as an accountant in St. Johns before spending many successful years with RE/MAX. Judy was witty and sharp, with a sense of humor that could light up any room. She loved good conversation and always had a thoughtful perspective to share. She was an extraordinary cook and baker, famous for her unforgettable desserts - especially her lemon meringue pie - and for the comforting home-cooked meals that drew everyone back to the table for seconds.

She found peace in her garden, tending flowers and watching the seasons change. She loved knitting, creating beautiful pieces stitched with patience and care. Time spent around the card table was time well spent in Judy's book, particularly if it involved a competitive game of cribbage. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, and helping her family with their horses. In recent years, her beloved dog, Zeba, brought her special joy and companionship.

She was a woman of strong and abiding faith. Judy and Rich also generously gave their time and talents to support the mission of Bay Cliff Health Camp in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. They spent many springs there, sewing curtains and blankets, assisting with labor, and serving wherever needed.

She is survived by her children, Crystyne and Fred Wilson, Rich and LeAnn Cramer, Jerry and Tresa Malek, and Jillene and Darryl David; her grandchildren, Shanin and Tony Gillman, Robin Ewers, Jentry Malek, Trista and Todd Stoller, and Anika Cramer; many great-grandchildren, extended family members and dear friends. Judy was preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Malek & Richard Cramer; her parents, and siblings, Glenn and Joyce.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, 12 PM, at McGeehan Funeral Home, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns. Friends may visit from 11AM until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Bay Cliff Health Camp, PO Box 310, Big Bay, Michigan 49808
