Judy Dains

Judy Dains, 63, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her family on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Family and friends are invited to Judith's Life Celebration 6:00 PM Monday, September 29, 2025 at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home with a visitation to be held from 5:00 PM until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

Born on October 1, 1961, in Butler, Missouri, Judy was the beloved daughter of Joseph Bowman and Betty (Kassner) Bowman.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Nathan Dains and wife Sally of Lake Ozark; Laura Adkisson and husband Mike of Centralia; Annie Cecil and husband Jay of Harrisonville; Susie Dains of Springfield; and Mathew Dains and partner Adrian Arnold of Nevada, Missouri. As well as the father of her children and first husband, Steve Dains. Judy was a proud grandmother to Lea Hart, Howard Hart, Levi Hart, Makenzi Adkisson, Mason Adkisson, Bryson Cecil, Blaire Cecil, Brooklyn Cecil and her loyal "grand-dog," Izzy. She is also survived by her sisters Sharon Taylor and husband Garry, and Susan Bowman, two brother in laws, Glen Adkisson and Bruce Seesengood, a sister in law Julee Snyder, two nieces, Keely Schoonover and Kinsey Freeman, a nephew, Bretney Taylor, a long time best friend, Tracy Williams, as well as some special little friends that helped take care of her the last few years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Phyllis Seesengood, Sheila Adkisson, Robert Bowman, and Donald Bowman.

Judy dedicated many years to teaching, where her kindness and patience touched countless lives. She had a love for reading, knitting, and cross-stitching, and found joy in the mountains, visits to Silver Dollar City, and listening to the music of George Strait. Above all, Judy cherished time with her family. She rarely missed a chance to be present at her grandchildren's activities, where her pride and love for them shone brightest.

Judy will be remembered for her warm heart, her quiet strength, and the love she shared so generously with her family and friends. Most of all, Judy laid the foundation of her life in her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a devoted Baptist and a member of North Point Church, where her faith guided her daily life and the love she shared with others.

Her legacy of love, kindness, resilience, and faith will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of Joe and Betty Bowman with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
