Judy DuPaul Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 21, 2025.
Judy Ann DuPaul March 25, 1946 - August 10, 2025 Judy Ann DuPaul, age 79, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2025. Born on March 25, 1946, in Northfield, Minnesota, Judy lived a life filled with compassion, warmth, and deep devotion to animals and the people who loved them. A lifelong animal lover, Judy built her beloved business, Labor of Love Pets, from the ground up more than 35 years ago, operating it out of her own home. What began as a humble idea turned into a thriving pet grooming and sitting service that touched countless lives. Her work wasn't just what she did - it was who she was. She continued caring for animals with love and dedication right up to the end, never stepping away from the work that brought her so much joy and purpose. Judy was known for her incredibly kind and generous heart - always willing to help others, even complete strangers. Her compassion knew no bounds. She had a natural gift for connecting with people from all walks of life, and could strike up a meaningful conversation with absolutely anyone, no matter their background or story. Her warmth and openness made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. She also showed incredible strength throughout her life, overcoming numerous health challenges that many thought impossible. She was, in every sense, a medical miracle - a fighter who never gave up, and who defied the odds time and again with courage and determination. Her resilience inspired everyone around her. Her care team and doctors often spoke of the light she carried, and the courage with which she met every challenge. She was deeply loved and respected by those who cared for her. She is survived by her grandson, Jereme DuPaul, and his girlfriend, Carly Ulrich; Jereme's father, Wayne Enger; her brother, Terry Rousseau, and his wife, Dorothy; along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jolene DuPaul; her husband, Bruce DuPaul; her sisters, Pamela Haynes and Linda Rousseau; and her mother, Charlot Rousseau. A Celebration of Life service will be held on September 27th at 11 AM, with a visitation one hour before and a reception to follow at Unity Christ Church in Golden Valley, MN. In honor of Judy's lifelong devotion to animals, the family encourages donations to a local animal rescue organization in her memory. Judy's life was truly a labor of love - for animals, for people, and for the world around her. Her spirit, kindness, and boundless heart will be missed more than words can express.
