Judy Lynn Garner O'Rourke

Judy Lynn Garner O'Rourke, age 70, of Whiteville, NC, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday, April 9, 2023. Judy was born on December 16, 1952, in Guam, to the late Clyde Walton Garner and Doris Benelyne Scott Garner. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister; Jackie Ettinger and her brother; Jerry Garner.
Judy worked along side her husband as an Insurance Executive for over 20 years in Ocala, Florida. She loved her work but she especially loved anything doing with her family and grandchildren. Judy was an avid collector of "Gone With the Wind" memorabilia.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years; Edward H. O'Rourke, Sr, a daughter; Christine Margaret Sauls (John) of Whiteville, two step daughters; Catherine McFarland (David) of Atlanta, GA and Mitzie Dodge (Bruce) of Louisville, KY, two step sons; Edward H. O'Rourke, Jr (Rachel) and Tim Richard O'Rourke (Colleen) both of Louisville, KY, and 12 Grandchildren; Ted, Mikayla, Mitchell, Benlyn, Michael, Katie, Hanna, Jacque, Kimmie, Brian, Patrick, and Kelly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at Whiteville First Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary.
