Judy Hodges Obituary
February 1, 1945 - October 3, 2025
Judy Meredith Hodges, age 80, of Lanexa, Virginia, formerly of Newport News, passed away peacefully into God's loving arms, with her kids by her side, on Friday, October 3rd, 2025.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Hope Hodges Koski (Barry M. Koski) and Wendy Elaine Hodges Norwood (Steve B. Norwood) Her grandchildren, Chelsea Boroughs Kamtman, Hunter Andrew Winfield Boroughs, Alyssa Maria Hodges, Meredith Hope Hodges, Jessica Hodges Eldridge, Eva Marie Hodges, Elizabeth Rose Norwood and her precious great-grandson, Liam Hunter Kamtman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Winfield Hodges Jr., parents, John C. Meredith and Enid W. Meredith; and her son, John Meredith Hodges. Judy was a lifelong domestic engineer and an avid reader. She travelled extensively in England and France, spending upwards of months at a time soaking in the culture, food, museums and churches. Most of all she loved her "Mr. Chips" of 60 years. They were truly inseparable, protecting and caring for one other through life's seasons: the joys and sorrows of life. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her place at Lake Gaston, and much to Dad's bewilderment, a lover of Duke basketball. She loved all things British and could bake a mean scone. She taught us the Anglican traditions- afternoon tea, respect for the royal family and the importance of good manners.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge VA 23140. A private graveside service will be held at Rocky Run Methodist Church in DeWitt VA. Online tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.
