Judith "Judy" (Baker) Hunter, of East Kingston, NH, passed away peacefully at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Facility on October 20th at the age of 82. Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Edward Hunter; her children, Lisa Vlasich and Jodi Day (Shawn); her sister, Linda MacLaren; her grandchildren, Sam Vlasich, Josh Vlasich (Sarah), Matty Vlasich, Allie Day and Katie Sukumaran (Vimal); her great grandson, Jaxton Vlasich, "the light of her life"; MacLaren nieces and nephews, her Aunt Peg Gonthier, and many cousins and treasured friends. Judy was predeceased by her son-in-law, David Vlasich and niece, Pamela MacLaren.

Judy was born in Exeter, NH, on December 25th, 1942, to her parents Phyllis (Bowley) and George Baker. She grew up surrounded by her great grandmother, grandparents, and aunts and uncles in the town of East Kingston.

At the age of 16, Judy began playing the organ at the First Congregational Church in Kingston, NH. She went on to play the organ in this church for over 65 years, becoming an integral member of the wonderful community there. She maintained an unwavering dedication to the music program, her faith, and to the First Congregational Church community. Judy played the organ for weddings, funerals, bean suppers, special holiday concerts, as well as for the residents at Riverwoods in Brentwood, NH. Judy referred to the choir and friends that she made along the way as her Church Family. Judy and her family cherish the support and love from her Church Family, especially during the final months of Judy's life.

Judy graduated Valedictorian from Sanborn Seminary High School in Kingston, NH in 1960. She participated in many activities, including field hockey, basketball, cheerleading, theater, and she played the glockenspiel in the marching band.

Judy received her secretarial certificate from McIntosh Business college in 1961. She began working in the office at Harvey Lumber in Haverhill, MA in1972. She made lifelong friendships over the nearly 40 years that she worked there, until she retired in 2009.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Thursday, November 6th from 4-6 pm at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, and a service to celebrate Judy's Life on Saturday, November 8th at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church of Kingston.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS.org).
