Audrey Marion (Schmidt) Beebe, of 6 George's Lane, Fremont NH, passed away peacefully at home on September 10th.

She was born February 20th 1933 to Victor Frank Schmidt and Marion (Gibbons) Schmidt. Audrey was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, David H Beebe in (2022), daughter Shelley Ann (1968) and daughter Jennifer E. Larain and son-in-law Todd Larain (2023).

She leaves her daughter Joanna (Jody), sons Matthew (and his wife Barbara Jenny), Jonathan (and his wife Liz), and Christopher (and his wife Paula), eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

She also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews and her beloved Sister and Brother-in-law, Beverly (Schmidt) Johnson and David Johnson.

Audrey grew up in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey (she loved to share that she lived down the street from Frank " Old Blue Eyes" Sinatra…). Audrey was a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Registered Nurse, attending and graduating from the School of Nursing at Newton-Wellesley Hospital with distinction, working early in her career at Hale Hospital in Haverhill, MA, the Rockingham County Nursing Home while raising her family, and finally, many years at the Phillips Exeter Academy infirmary. She particularly loved the maternity ward, where she got to participate in the welcoming of many new lives to the world.

Audrey and her late husband, David, met at Ted Hilton's Vacation Hideaway in Connecticut, where Audrey had gone on vacation. David was teaching horseback riding and they met on a trail ride. Later that evening they met again at a dance. Audrey always said David was "quite the dancer " and the rest was history.

Audrey was a brilliant seamstress-many of her creations are still being worn by family members including her great-grandchildren.

She was an artist--painting subtle, imaginative watercolors.

She loved gardening-and whether farming a plot of vegetables, or growing asparagus (she did love her asparagus!)-or tending roses and flowers to brighten the yard, she fostered the same care that she brought to all her interactions.

To her friends she was loyal and supportive--attentive and always there in person to lend a hand or ear -- or in her later years, reaching out with a timely phone call.

To her family, she was the anchor-a loving teacher, mentor, and life-guide --a model of perseverance, integrity, and character. She loved the holidays and always made them special for her children, at any age-particularly Thanksgiving-taking over that holiday from her mother and making it her own for decades-even as her own children left, got married, had families of their own-and returned.

We will miss her dearly--always, and forever…

Funeral services will be private.
