Judith "Judy" (nee. Schmuelevitz) Lista passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lista, her parents, Chaya & Schmuel Schmuelevitz, her sister Ruchama Bar Yehuda and her brother, Yitzhak Schmuelevitz.
Judy and her immediate family escaped Danzig, Germany, prior to the Nazi Occupation and Kristellnacht
She married Jerry Lista (Cymbalista) prior to coming to the United States on September 11, 1959.
Judy attended school in Israel and served as a member of the Israeli Haganah Underground Army prior to Israel becoming a state.
She was a fashion designer and art instructor at ORT Institute in Israel. After her move to the United States, Judy worked at J.C. Penney's as a sales associate for 15 years.
Judy enjoyed reading, painting and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Dave Torres) Lista; Grandmother of Logan, Dylan and Cody; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service honoring Judy will be held Tuesday, August 6 2024 at 2:00pm, at Golden Hill Cemetery. Service will be livestreamed via Feldman Mortuary's YouTube channel. The family will be observing Shiva privately.
In lieu of flowers, Judy's family requests contributions be made to IsraAID, an organization providing support for displaced communities in Israel.

I first met Judy when I was attending Judy´s and Jerry´s wedding in Israel! She was a beautiful bride!
Judy was the one who took me to Rose Memorial Hospital in Denver when it was time to deliver my daughter. Judy and Jerry hosted me during the last few months of my pregnancy!
We both loved reading. Judy was fluent in Hebrew and English and enjoyed reading in both languages.
Judy was a talented painter; She painted a scene from Snow White on the wall of her nieces´ room in Israel.
