Judy Kaye O'Brien

Judy Kaye O'Brien, 75, of Salmon, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident, leaving her family and friends heartbroken. She was born on August 22, 1950, in Idaho Falls to Helen Bateman and Wayne McDougal. When Judy was one year old, her mother remarried Lewis Dartt, who lovingly became Judy's father from that day forward.
Judy met the love of her life, Arlen Dale O'Brien, while in high school in Salmon. The two built a beautiful life together, sharing a remarkable 58-year marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and family. Together they raised three children: Barbara (Barbie) Ann DuPlessis, Michael Dale O'Brien, and Katina Lynn Terry.
Judy had a heart of gold. She spent much of her life helping others-always ready with a listening ear, a warm smile, or a hand to hold. She cherished time with her family and friends and found joy in traveling, camping, riding 4-wheelers, playing card games, and spending peaceful days fishing. Her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father Wayne McDougal; mother Helen Dartt; dad Lewis Dartt; brothers Wayne McDougal, Bill Dartt, and Samuel Dartt; and sisters Karen Williams and Katherine Dartt.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Arlen O'Brien; her children Barbara (Kevin) DuPlessis of Bluffton, IN; Michael (Melissa) O'Brien of Rockland, ID; and Katina (Stacy) Terry of Wellington, CO. She is also survived by her siblings Nancy Richards, Leatha Fernandez, Christy Bennett, Debbie Carpenter, and Jim Dartt; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Judy's life was a testament to love, family, and service. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
