Judy Scranton Obituary
Judith Kaye Harrel Scranton, 82, of Liberal, passed away on Saturday June 21, 2025 at Homestead Estates Home Plus.
She was born on March 11, 1943 to Leonard "Buck" and Billie (Bryant) Harrel at Epworth Hospital in Liberal, KS.
Judy attended school at Liberty Country School, then graduated Liberal HIgh School, Class of 1960.
Following that, she completed a semester at Fort Hays State University. She then returned home, and on May 10 1961 she married Beryl I Scranton in Liberal, KS. Her work history included: Universal CIT, El Kan Drug for several years, billing clerk at Dr. Reese's office, Midwestern Drilling Company, Dr. Jim Parson's Eye Clinic, Dr. Dennis Knudsen's OB Clinic, and then later retired as a Para at South Middle School.
Judy is survived by her loving husband Beryl, Two Daughters, Sheri (Jack) McDowell of Farmington, NM, Stacey (Scott) Sandell of Liberal, KS, Two Grandsons,Dylan (Morgan) Sandell of Kansas City, MO, and Hunter Sandell of Liberal, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present to greet friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 10:00 am at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Rex Petty, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery.
