Judy L. Severson

 

Judy L. (Simon) Severson, Age 80 of Mondovi Wi passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday April 22, 2023 at the Homeplace in Mondovi. Judy was born on July 11th, 1942 in LaCosse Wi to the late John and Alma Simon. Judy was a loving daughter, mom, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who touched the hearts of all she came in contact with. She was known for her witty personality, contagious smile, beautiful blue eyes and her love for life. Judy always enjoyed being around her family and friends. She loved to sit in her recliner and look out her window and bird watch. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the Marten Center and a relaxing day coloring or just putting a puzzle together. Judy worked many years at the Heritage Health Care Center in Chanute Kansas. In 1963 Judy married her best friend and late husband Glenn T. Severson. Judy and Glenn were the proud parents of their 6 children LaRae (Herman) Grotzinger of Mondovi Wi, Jody Thompson of Chanute Kansas, Glenda (James) Jones of Mondovi Wi, Theodore (Roxanne) Severson of Gilmanton Wi, Julia Turner (Wayne Schmitz) of Wabasha Mn, Andrew Severson of Wisconsin Rapids Wi, and Matthew (Lynne) Severson of Mondovi Wi. Judy was proceeded in death by her late husband Glenn Severson, parents John Sr. and Alma Simon, siblings David, Patricia and John Jr., grandsons Randy Jr. and Dustin and great-grandson Zachary. She is survived by her brothers Mark and Gene Simon, sister Rose Simon along with her children, 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel with burial to follow at Evanger Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service all at the funeral home.
