Judy Sherman Obituary

Judy Kay Sherman departed this earth and was greeted by her heavenly savior on September 28, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on April 11, 1954, to parents, Gordon "Son" and Myrtie Alice "Bop" (Duke) Kuhn, Judy graced this world for over seven decades. A lifelong resident, she spent most of her days in the Centerview Community, where she was known not just as a neighbor, but as the heart of the community.

Judy shared nearly fifty remarkable years of marriage with Tommy Sherman, who passed just months before her. Their bond was a testament to love and companionship, one that will be cherished by all who knew them.

Throughout her life, Judy worked as a cook in various local establishments, earning a reputation for her exceptional cooking skills. Whether it was a family dinner or a gathering of friends, Judy's meals were always a highlight. But her talents extended far beyond the kitchen; she was a caregiver at heart. Many in the community experienced her generosity firsthand, whether through a warm meal or a drive to their next appointment.

With a generous spirit, she embodied kindness and compassion. Judy loved to spend her time at the casinos and enjoyed lively evenings playing dominos with her ladies' group. She had a soft spot for dogs, often found in her kitchen crafting homemade meals for her furry friends, ensuring they were as well-fed and loved as the people in her life. Always sporting her beloved house coats or "muumuus," Judy created a cozy atmosphere that welcomed all who entered her home.

Judy was an active member of the New Salem Cemetery Association, where her community spirit shined as she contributed to maintaining the resting place of loved ones. Her legacy will carry on, not just in her celebrated cooking or her warm laughter, but in the many lives she touched directly.

Judy was preceded in death by both of her parents and her beloved husband, Tommy Sherman. Judy is lovingly survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend, Kasey (Smith) Ginsel; and many other friends and acquaintances who will always keep her spirit alive in their hearts and memories.

A graveside service for Judy will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, October 2, 2025, at New Salem Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join for a celebration of Judy's remarkable life, where memories, laughter, and perhaps even a few delicious recipes in her honor will be shared. Everyone who knew Judy to come together to reminisce about the beautiful soul she was and how she made our lives a little bit brighter.

Rest in peace, Judy. You will be dearly missed but forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Salem Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 952, Centerville, Texas 75833.
