Judy Slygh

Judith Ann (Trout) Slygh, 73, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away March 2, 2025 at Deaconess Hospital from complications of the flu. She was born January 18, 1952 in McLeansboro, IL to the late, Benjamin and Betty (Tweedy) Trout.
Judy attended the Mt. Vernon School System and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, Class of 1970. She married Mac Slygh, October 22, 1971 and they have been happily married for 53 years. Judy worked for Fluor Construction as a Cost Control Specialist for 35 years. She loved family get-togethers, her music, antique shopping and auctions. She also loved playing Clabber with special friends, Alan and Yolanda Schutz.
Mac and Judy have been married for 5 decades. It will never be the same again. She was always smiling and had a love for life. Judy will be deeply missed.
Judy would like to tell everyone to hug their husbands, wives and significant others and to tell them you love them. You don't know when it will be for the last time.
She is survived by her husband, Mac; their 3 children, Shannon Slygh (Paul Ankenbrand), Sally Slygh (Billy DeMunbrun Jr.), Cyndi Slygh-Morefield (James); a granddaughter, Hannah Durham born to Cyndi and John Durham; brothers, Gary Trout (Kathy) and David Trout (Judy); and many nieces and nephews who she also loved greatly.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. John Motz officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
