Honorary pallbearers are Judy's Classmates of the Class 1982.
Born in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, on December 30, 1963, to proud parents Wayne and Margaret Kendrick, Judy was the eldest of three siblings. Her early years in Hartshorne were filled with the joys of small-town life and the close-knit bonds of family. Judy's nurturing spirit was evident even in her youth, as she often took on the role of caretaker and confidante within her family circle.
On November 23, 1991, Judy married the love of her life, Stuart Winlock, in a beautiful ceremony at the First Assembly of God in McAlester, Oklahoma. Together, they welcomed three wonderful children into the world: Malaysia, Ronald, and Joshua. The family shared countless memories and a deep, abiding love that was the cornerstone of Judy's life.
In pursuit of her dreams, Judy and Stuart relocated to Andrews, Texas, where she opened and successfully operated J&S Salon. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly, but Judy's passion for helping others soon led her down a new path. She decided to pursue a career in nursing, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Odessa College in 1998. Judy's dedication to her studies was matched only by her commitment to her patients.
Judy began her nursing career specializing in labor and delivery at Permian General Hospital. Her compassion and expertise quickly earned her the role of unit supervisor. In 1999, Judy and her family moved to Wilburton, where she continued her work in obstetrics at McAlester Regional Hospital. Her dedication to women's health and newborn care was unwavering, and she later joined the Choctaw Nation, where she served with distinction until her move to Grove in 2015.
Throughout her life, Judy lived by the principles of loving her neighbor and loving God. She believed in preparing her mind for action and not chasing things that were against her soul. These guiding tenets were reflected in her daily interactions and the legacy she leaves behind.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Stuart; her children, Malaysia Petty of Eufaula, Ronald Winlock of Grove, and Joshua Winlock of Grove; granddaughter Ryan Petty; and mother Margaret (Phillips) Kendrick of Gowen; brother Billy Kendrick and sister Sandra Kendrick both of Gowen along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Billy Wayne Kendrick; sisters, Sally Tomlinson and Terry Durant; brothers, Gene Nation and Robert Nation and an infant grandson Roman.
Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her love into every moment spent with them.
Judy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her life was a beautiful example of selfless love and service to others. Judy Winlock will be deeply missed, but her memory will be cherished forever.
Judy's journey on earth may have ended, but her story of love, kindness, and friendship will be told for generations to come.
