Judy Marie (Reppin) Zywica, 81, of Peru, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at Morris Hospital after a year long battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Peru with Rev. Ronald Margherio, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Webster Park. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home with a liturgical prayer service at 3:45 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Judy was born October 3, 1942 in Mendota to Clarence A. and Helen S. (Shannon) Reppin. She graduated from Hall High School and went on to graduate from Illinois Valley Community College with her Associates Degree of Nursing. She married John D. Zywica on May 26, 1962 at St. Joseph's Church, Peru. Judy worked as a registered nurse at Illinois Valley Community Hospital for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Ladies League at Senica's Oak Ridge, and numerous card groups including Bridge, Euchre, and Hand and Foot. Judy loved to travel and had gone to 26 different countries. She even had taken trips with Rev. Ronald Margherio, OSB.
Survivors include her three children, Mike (Julie) Zywica, Shari Zywica, and Traci (Jeff) Aimone; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Jim (Paula) Reppin; several nieces and nephews; and her four legged companion, Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and one sister, Connie Prow.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
