Jules Louis Adelfang

Another fellow hiker from Santa Fe sending Karen and her family love and sympathy at this difficult time.

Growing up in Boulder with Louis and Jack, I vividly remember visits to their house on Moorhead Avenue, with Mr. Adelfang front and center in the living room, there to greet (and sometimes grill!) us. He was knowledgeable, humorous, patient, genuine and most of all, kind. I particularly loved his quick and sharp wit, oftentimes directed at Lou (or any of us within ear-shot, for that matter!) We always walked away a little more seasoned and richer from any contact with Jules. The Adelfangs...

I met Karen at Cafe13 for the first time yesterday where she had coffee on her first outing on her own. I admired her strength and felt her deep sorrow. I would have loved to meet her husband. I am sure they were a strong and caring couple. I wish Karen and her family strength and peace for the times to come.

The little I knew Luigi, I will always remember his positive ways, big smile and great sense of humor. He was most fortunate to have a wife, that loved him so much.
