Julia (Julie) Elizabeth Brossett went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 22, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on December 21, 1950, in
Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Claude Otto Jr. and Virginia Ann Coon.
On March 28, 1970, she married the love of her life, Gerald Brossett, and together they built a family that was the joy of her days. Julie cherished her children-Robert ("Rob") Brossett, her firstborn, and Elizabeth ("Beth") Ann Carlton, her light. Her five grandchildren-Alexis Nicole, Connor Blake, Sophie Elizabeth, Nicolette Elizabeth, and Luke Robert-were her treasure. Every night, she whispered their names to God.
Julie devoted more than 30 years to teaching, with the last 14 years spent at Second Baptist His Kids Pre-K School, where she transformed classrooms into gardens of love, learning, and faith.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; Rob and wife Amanda, with Alexis, Sophie, and Luke; Beth and husband Nick, with Connor and Nicolette; her beloved sister, Jane Thrasher; dear niece Ginger Fisher; nephews Toby Fisher and wife Sally, Rocky Fisher and wife Shirley, Ed Coon and wife Louise, Steve Coon and wife Rose, John Thrasher, and Wayne Coon Jr. and wife Caren, and David Coon; brothers in law Gifford Wade Brossett and Robert Brossett and wife Carol; and many great nieces and great nephews whom she loved deeply.
She rejoices now in heaven with her parents, Claude and Virginia Ann; her brothers Ed Coon (and sister in law Betty)Wayne Coon (and sister in law Becky), and David Coon; her sister Shirley Fisher (and brother in law Toby); parents-in-law Paul and Lorene Brossett; brother-in-law Paul Brossett Jr., sister-in-law Janice Brossett, brother-in-law Gary Thrasher and her nieces Marsha Brossett, Lisa McPhee and Jami Fisher.
A memorial service will be held at Second Baptist Church - West Campus, Williams House, in Houston, Texas, on January 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Her journey is complete. Her love endures.
