Julia Dell "Judy" Herrington

Julia Dell Herrington, lovingly known as "Judy" and affectionately called "Maa Maa" by her grandchildren, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. She was born in Houma, Louisiana , spent many years in Slidell, Louisiana, and later made her home in Picayune, Mississippi.

Julia was married to her devoted husband, Oliver Herrington, for 53 wonderful years. She is survived by her husband, her son, Johnny Beard; her brother, Ernest (Nick) Reeves; her grandchildren, Christina Pearson and wife Jennifer, and Timothy Heiges; her great grandchildren, Alexia Parker and husband Elijah Parker,Shawn Smith and Madison Bolton; her great great grandchildren, Novaleigh Mae, Emberlynn Rae, Keenyn Mark, and Graysen Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Julie Ann Beard.

Julia was a devoted homemaker and a true homebody who found her greatest joy in caring for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved perfume, jewelry and anything red; especially her signature red lipstick. A faithful Baptist, Julia loved the lord and lived her life with quiet strength and devotion.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. While her passing leaves a void in our heart, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her daughter, Julie, in eternal peace.

"Maa Maa", you were deeply loved and will forever remain in our hearts. We look forward to the day we will see you again.

We welcome all family and friends to join us for, graveside services for Julia on Friday, February 06, 2026 at 3:00pm, at New Palestine Cemetery.
