Sister Julia Bell Chambliss Hill was born March 21, 1928 to the parentage of the late Thad Chambliss and Rosa Chambliss. She made her transition into eternal rest on Sunday, March 1, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by husband, Henry Hill Sr., her daughter, Rosanna Hill, her son, Henry Hill Jr. and her loving sisters and brothers.

Julia was always an advocate for education, making education a priority for her four children. In the era she grew up in, she viewed this as an avenue for a better quality of life.

She spent the majority of her work career in the textile industry, with Carter's Inc. Her joy came from shopping for her grandchildren, with them wearing the Carter's Brand.

Julia had a love of gardening, that brought out the traits that she lived. In her gardening, we saw her patience, nurturing, and deeply connected to nature, often finding peace in the outdoors.

Sister Julia, a long-time church member of Williams Chapel AME Church, could be considered a "pillar of the church" whose faith was demonstrated through consistence service, love for the congregation, and steadfastness in her walk with God.

Her long-time member's devotion: President, Women's Missionary Society, Trustee Board, Choir Member, Co-Founder of Family and Friends Annual Celebration.

Her memories will be cherished by her daughters Mary and Barbara, daughter-in-love Trenia Hill, granddaughter Brittney Tatom (Michael George Tatom), grandson Rodrick Austin (Kowana Austin), and a host of other close relatives, and friends.
