Julia Hudson Obituary

ST. PARIS – Julia "Julie" Ann Hudson, age 62, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026.

Julie was born on Dec. 22, 1963 in Springfield, Ohio, to Kenneth L. and Roberta A. (Jones) Cupps.

Julie was a graduate of Urbana High School and went on to dedicate many years of hard work to Rittal, where she was employed in quality control and machine operation. On Sept. 9, 1995, she married the love of her life, Richard L. Hudson, with whom she shared over 30 years of marriage.

Julie was a proud member of the Urbana Moose Lodge, Chapter 1215, where she built a close-knit and lasting community of friends. She had a creative spirit and loved crafting, tending to her garden, and relaxing outdoors with her beloved Sudoku puzzles. Above all else, Julie treasured her family. She took great pride in being a great-grandmother, affectionately known as "Granny Great." Her love for her family was unwavering, and she would do anything for those she held dear.

Julie was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of over 30 years, Richard L. Hudson; her children, Jessica (Jason) Shirk, Jena Trabert-Wisma, Tyanda Hudson, Damein (Jennifer) Hudson, and Zech (Emily Melroy) Hudson; her siblings, Pamela Perego, Twila Cupps (Billy), Melissa Cupps, Patty Bjugsted (Phil), Mike Hudson, Don (Vicki) Hudson, Brett (Jill) Hudson, and Kevin Asterino; her grandchildren, Gavin, Jaidan, Gracelyn, Averey, Skyler, Izzy, Preston, Holton, Owen, Riley, Nathaniel, Hartley, Xavier, Aryana, Xander, Cameron, Laykin, Dawson, and Lainey; her great-grandchild, Hayze; and father-in-law, Edward (Sonny) Hudson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Peggy Hudson; her sister, Victoria Asterino; her niece, Elizabeth Asterino; her brother-in-law, Louie Perego; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

A celebration of Julie's life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to ATKINS, SHIVELY, AND VERNON FUNERAL HOME, St. Paris, Ohio.
