Julia E Naylor

Julia E. Naylor at the age of 92, entered into eternal rest on Sunday May 26, 2024. She had just finished hearing the Word of God when her Lord and Savior called her home. Julia leaves her only child, Fortunata Green, Son-in-Law, Michael and Granddaughter, Famira Green all of Virginia to mourn her loss. Also a host of Nieces and Nephews across the States and lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Walter Naylor and seven sisters, Frances, Helen, Pearl, Dorothy, Alice, Violet and Cleo. Julia was the youngest of all the girls. Julia was born November 14, 1931 and raised in Fort Dodge, IA. Where as an adult, she was very involved in her community. She served on the City of Fort Dodge Human Rights Commission, was Treasurer of the NAACP Fort Dodge Chapter. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Board Member. Served on various committees for the Webster County Democratic Party. Participated as a Poll worker during elections. A Mentor for the Pleasant Valley Awareness Committee. Member and Core Leader for Women's Community Bible Study for over 20 years and Lifelong Church Member of Coppin Chapel AME where she served as Trustee and Treasurer. She was employed by Hormel Packing Plant for over 30 years until they closed the Plant at which time she retired. Allowing her to spend more time visiting her Daughter and family in Virginia. She enjoyed traveling. As an avid sports fan, her very best favorite team was those Dallas Cowboys. No one could say anything negative about her Boys in her presence. She loved to banter with folks over her team. She moved to Virginia with her Daughter this past November and spent her final days surrounded by the love of her Family and her new Church Family at Genesis Christian Fellowship Church. The Love she shared will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8th 2024, at 12:00 PM at Genesis Christian Fellowship Church located at 9914 Warwick Blvd Newport News, VA 23601. The service will be live streamed at https://www.genesischristianfellowship.org/livestream
