Julia Rose Duncan Davis, 88, of Del Rio, TX died peacefully on December 8, 2025 at 11:02 a.m. at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She will be cremated and at her request there will be no services.
Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born on December 17, 1936 in Paducah, KY to Gip and Bessie Johnson Duncan. She graduated from Paducah High School, then moved to Joliet, IL to live with her sister and to work. It was in Joliet that she met and married her one and only love, Dean L. Davis on June 27, 1959. She moved to Oshkosh, WI in 1961 then to Del Rio, TX in 1969 following her husband's work. Julia was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Del Rio, TX.
Julia is survived by: her daughter, Linda R. Green, her son, Michael D. Davis, (Lydia Martinez, finance, of Brackettville, TX); 3 grandchildren, Patricia R. Green, Richard D. Green (Brittney Green) of Decatur, TX, and Makayla R. Rodriguez (Rudy Rodriguez) of Johnson City, TN; 2 great-grandchildren, Eli Green and Carson Green. Also, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Julia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Dean L. Davis, her parents, brother Jewel Duncan (Alva) and 3 sisters, Pauline Reed (Clifford), Dorothy Downey (Johnie) and Barbara Cannon (Carl Wayne).
Memorials can be given to the First United Methodist Church of Del Rio, TX, or donor's choice.
