Julia E. Sokol

Julia E. Sokol, 95 of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022. She was born January 30, 1927 in Chicago, the daughter of Michael and Eva (Slanta) Pasziewicz. Julia was a secretary for NIPSCO and was a teacher at Hammond Business College. On September 9, 1950 in Chicago, she married Edward A. Sokol, who preceded her in death. Surviving are her sons, Edward Sokol of Oak Forest, IL and Bob (Patty) Sokol of Valparaiso, and her grandchildren Brian (Amanda) Sokol and Cheryl (Mike) Mulder and great-grandchildren Brayden, Lily, Edwin and Bennett. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Marie Sokol, sisters, Olga, Mary and Sophie and brothers Dymetry, Steven and Peter. Julia enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022, 10 AM to noon at Bartholomew Funeral Home, with Funeral Services at noon. A private burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. at a later date. Memorial Donations may be made to the Porter County Humane Society.
