Carlene was born in Gladewater, TX on December 28th, 1937, and passed away at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, AR, Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Carlene was 87 Years 8 months 13 days old. Carlene attended Sapulpa Junior High and graduated from Sapulpa High in1955. She was a baton twirler in High School.
Carlene loved the Lord and enjoyed playing bingo and doing puzzle books. She did volunteer work for the Women in Crisis organization. Both Carlene and Bruce stayed in touch with their Sapulpa High School classmates over the years and helped with the organization of many class reunions.
Bruce and Julia Carlene Saner began dating in the seventh grade and continued all through school, after graduating they were married on June 15th, 1956, at the First United Methodist Church in Sapulpa. Bruce and Carlene were married for 65 years and during that time they had four children, Sherry, Douglas, Joni, and Stacie. They lived in Sapulpa until having to move to Muskogee, OK in the summer of 1980. In 2019, they moved to Bentonville, AR and resided at the Village on the Park senior living community, where over the years they made many new dear friends.
Carlene worked for the Sapulpa water department, American National Bank in Sapulpa, Creek County Treasurer's Office, and was a homemaker for many years. While in Muskogee she helped some working moms by providing childcare for their children while they worked. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her children and grandchildren in sports and in all their other activities. She was a very devoted wife.
Carlene is preceded in death by her father Carl Saner and mother Ruth Saner, her brother Charles Franklin Saner, husband Bruce Leroy Worley in 2022, and one daughter Sherry Evans of Sapulpa. She is survived by son Doug Worley and wife Nancy of Blackwell, OK, daughter Joni Cantrell and husband Darine of Muskogee, daughter Stacie Worley of Centerton, AR, grandchildren, Jenny (Evans) Jarrell of Bristow, Courtney Evans of Tulsa, Brittany Cantrell of Muskogee, Joshua Worley and wife Jennifer of Lynchburg, VA, Andrew Worley and wife Payton of Blackwell, OK, Nathaniel Worley and wife Tiffany of Yukon, OK, and Austin Cruz of Springdale, AR. A step-grandson, Doyle Cantrell and his wife Jackie, and a step-granddaughter, Dr. Sarah Cruz of state of Michigan. Eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Jarrell, Bentley Cantrell, Ellen Worley, Ezra Worley, Donna Worley, Eliza Worley, Judah Worley, Dorothy Worley, and two on the way; and three step-great-grandchildren, Sasha Cantrell, Mya Cantrell, and Cashus Cantrell.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 16th, at 11 am at the Sapulpa Methodist Church located at 1401 E Taft Street,
Sapulpa, Oklahoma. A viewing will be available at the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel located at 400 East Teel Road,
Sapulpa, Oklahoma on Monday the 15th from 4pm to 6pm. Her final resting place will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
