Julie Dupuis Obituary

The world lost a beautiful soul last week. Julie Dupuis, 59, of Milford, New Hampshire, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, following complications from serious injuries caused by an automobile accident on October 4th, 2020.

Julie was born in Groveton, NH on June 7, 1961 to Geraldine Major and the late Gilbert Major. She was raised and educated in New Hampshire, graduating from Groveton High School and from New Hampshire Technical Institute where she received an Associate's Degree in Radiology.

Julie's life was dedicated to helping others. She spent 37+ years at the Elliot Hospital leading the radiology department. She truly considered the Elliot Hospital her second home, often referring to colleagues as her second family. With a strong dedication to her work, Julie's greatest passion was using her profession to help those around her.

She was the loving wife of 39 years to her high school sweetheart, Peter Dupuis, mother to Chad Dupuis and his wife Kendra Dupuis (Silva), and Jennifer Dupuis and her fiancee Michele Troy. She was looking forward with so much love and excitement to the arrival of her son's first child, and her first grandchild, this winter and her daughter's wedding in 2022. Among the many things she loved, she loved the beach; she had so many amazing memories with family at York Beach over the years. She was also an animal lover; incredibly fond of giraffes, and had many dogs throughout her lifetime. She will miss her dog, Molly, so much. Most of all, she loved spending time with her husband and her family, countless adventures and memories that will live on forever. Julie's smile lit up the room and always made everyone feel warm and welcome in her presence, and that is how we will remember her.

She is predeceased by her father, Gilbert Major, her brother, Mark Major, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leon and Milanie Dupuis. Survived by her mother Geraldine Major, and her siblings Gilbert "Rob" Major and his wife Nancy, Cathy Houlihan and her husband Bob, Steve Major and his wife Trudy, Jim Major and his wife Debbie, and Lori Gagne and her husband Kevin. Her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Jim and Diane Dupuis, Dan and Wanda Dupuis, and Gary and Elena Dupuis. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

At this time the family has chosen to forgo a traditional service, in lieu of a celebration of life at a later date in the Spring of 2021.

Donations of remembrance may be made to the Mary & John Elliot Charitable Foundation at Elliot Hospital. The gifts can be made to support an education scholarship in Julie's name for Radiology students OR for Julie's Giraffes, a joyful program to give a stuffed giraffe to newborns born at Elliot Hospital.

Julie was one of the first people I worked with on a steady basis here at the Elliot. She was always so pleasant and had a way of keeping the work flow going in Radiology. I will miss her easy going personality and beautiful smile. A huge loss to her family and to our Elliot family. RIP Julie.
