Julie Ryan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barbola Funeral Chapel - Berlin on Feb. 4, 2026.
Julie Sue Ryan, age 67, of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

She was born January 3, 1959, in Berlin, WI, the daughter of Robert and Marion Viertel Ryan. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin. Julie was a 1977 graduate of Berlin High School and attended UW-Oshkosh.

Julie worked for Valley VNA Senior Care in Appleton as a dietician. She was endlessly devoted to her two granddaughters, with whom she spent each day-loving them, laughing with them and finding her greatest joy in watching them grow. A golfer since childhood, she carried the game with her throughout life, her swing steady and her spirit competitive. At home, her hands were always in the garden, nurturing flowers with the same patience and care she gave to her family. And on Sundays, everything paused for football-especially when her beloved Green Bay Packers took the field. Through her passions, her traditions, and the love she poured into her family, she created a life that will be forever treasured.

She is survived by her daughter, Kiley (Jake) Olejnik; two grandchildren, Walker and Wrenley; sister, Beth Bartol (Dave Ferris); three nephews, Cody (Dani) Bartol, Cullan Bartol (girlfriend, Mariah Lewis), and Cal (Sarah) Bartol; grandniece, Betty Rose; grandnephews, Leo, Ellis and Tyge; and many cousins. Julie was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services with inurnment will be held at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Anyone wishing to send a sympathy card to the family, please mail to Julie Ryan, c/o Barbola Funeral Chapel, PO Box 201, Berlin, WI 54923.
